What is Oxjam?
Simply put, Oxjam is a series of events throughout the city supporting your live music scene. And it’s all leading up to the big one, the Oxjam Sheffield Takeover, a night of multi-venue music around Sheffield.
The Takeover
The Oxjam Sheffield Takeover will take place on Sunday 24th October 2010
This year Oxjam Sheffield is bigger and better than ever before. We have The Forum, The Harley, The Green Room, The Washington and DQ all filled with top quality acts from Sheffield. You buy a wrist band from the ticket booth at The Forum and then you’re free to roam between venues to see which ever act tickles your fancy! It’s just £5 for the wrist band, that’s just £1 per venue and every penny goes directly to Oxfam.
The Line up
Green Room – Dave Roberts Effect , Jack’s Rake, Mother Folkers, Pocket Satellite
The Washington – Don Barrell Gents, Feeds, Soulmates Never Die, Tree Beards , Double No No
The Forum – 7 Black Tenticles, Oblong, Screaming Maldini
The Harley – Burleskimo, Junglalist Alliance, Sequoia DJs, Andy H
DQ – Maurauders, Nineowells , Six Foot Sick, Up and Atom
Some changes may occur, updated daily.
Tickets on Sale
You can buy your wristband on the door at The Forum on the night. But if you’re the early-bird kind and want to ensure yourself a place in all five venues, you can grab yourself a ticket now for a quick wristband-exchange on the night. Tickets are available from Cow on West Street (you know, the bright yellow store with all the trendy threads!) and The Washington on Fitzwilliam Street and , just round the corner from Corp and The Green Room on Devonshire Street. Ticket sales start on Friday 7th October.
Of course, this is 2010, so if you want to buy your tickets online… here’s your chance!
